Welcome...
...to Loughborough
Rugby Football Club's (LRFC) website. Originally founded in 1891, LRFC was
re-founded in 1929 and has since then been the only Rugby Union football
club in the town. The club regularly fields four Men's sides on a Saturday,
as well as having one of the best attended Mini and Junior sections
in the county. Loughborough RFC is affiliated to the LRU, RFU and RFUW.
The 1st XV play league fixtures in Midlands Division 3 East (North) (click here for fixtures) and finished 5th
in 2007-08. We are hoping to build on this and gain promotion next season.
We reached the final of the LRFU County Bowl for the 3rd year in
succession but were unable to make it 3 wins in a row, losing to Leicester Forest 12-10 in a closely fought
final.

The 2nd XV play in Division 1 of the Leicestershire
league (click
here for fixtures), and the 3rd XV play in Division 2 of the Leicestershire
league (click here
for fixtures). Leicestershire league tables are available here.
The 4th XV play
friendly fixtures (though remaining very competitive) and is an excellent
feeder side to the higher teams.
More recently, the
club responded to the popularity of Women's rugby and Women's XV is about to embark on its eighth
season; this year they’ll be playing in RFUW Championship Midlands 2.
The
Mini – Junior Section of the club runs teams for every age group from
Under 7’s to Under 17’s. A downloadable
pdf welcome pack is available here and includes details of the Club
Rules, Child Welfare Policy and Codes of Conduct. It also has a helpful
section with directions to various clubs at the end.
