History…

We were formed nearly 8 years ago and although we have lost a few to University, Emigration (!) and the inevitable Motherhood there are still a few of the originals from the 1998-99 season. The picture below is from our first ever home match, against Old Coventrians, November 1998. Unfortunately, we lost 27-5.

After starting off in the Midlands Merit Tables for two years we progressed to the RFUW Leagues and are now in RFUW Championship Midlands 2.

We managed to win 4 consecutive League Championships between 2000 and 2004.

Now…

This year we are captained by front-rower Nicola Wroe, the popular tight-head having picked up the Player’s Player trophy at last season’s Awards Dinner after a storming season.

Our main training session is on a Wednesday evening, starting at 6.30pm, although there are plans to add Tuesday and Friday sessions as the new Season approaches. Full details to be added later. Training is at Derby Road Playing Fields, Loughborough (Directions).

Pre-season training has been going on for since late June, and all who have attended so far will surely agree that the hard work has all been worth it. Remember… “Pain is just weakness leaving the body.” !!!
